Below are social stories to read, share, or download to print. You are invited to personalize each story as you read it aloud, perhaps using these suggestions:

• Replace generic references to “someone who died” with the name of the deceased and mention the specific relationship. For example: “I will always remember my sister Monica.”

• Where appropriate, replace generic images with photos that have personal meaning. This includes photos of the actual places where ritual events will be held, if such photos are available.

• Adapt the stories in any other ways that make them accessible and helpful to the griever.
